Our NCCAT Anthology

Donna Pumphrey turned in her story last night--let that be a nudge to the rest of us! She writes: "Keep in touch and thanks for all the tips. I feel like I stepped up my writing a whole notch at NCCAT."

Glad to have the two blog queens back in force! I'll be sending you one of those 4th-grade postcards, just as soon as I get where I'm going. Eventually...

Say, although I didn't share in the circle, I really did write a story.----And submitted it to Linda on Sunday, August 21. No showing off here, just needed to complete that project so that I could focus on school. I have tunnel vision. HMMM.
I'm looking forward to reading all the stories. Marly, are you submitting one? I'm started reading The Curse of the Ravenmockers last night. I so love your writing. I'm ordering copies (Ingledove, too) for my classroom, so expect to hear from my students in the future.
Vanessa, postcards will be coming your way from Raleigh--soon.
Oh yes, Marly, your blog inspired me to create one for my class. I'll introduce it tomorrow. Hopefully, I'll be able to keep up with my students.

Marly, should I send my story to you as well as Linda?

Connie,

Vanessa is going to announce that you're showing off. You beat Donna, the blog queen!

I haven't written a thing in Cullowhee except a poem, so I'll have to do something when I get home--or dig up something. But I'll try.

Thank you for the compliment. I'll remember it when I'm staring at my writing room wall--a writer at work is so unromantic! And if your students want to ask a question, they can make a comment any time to my "other" blog. Those comments fly straight into my private email, so that's the quickest route.

Let us know how the blog for your students goes. I wonder who else will try that one...

Sure, send multiple copies. That's probably the very safest. Linda is going to pass her editorial eye over the stories and check for typos, spelling errors, etc. (And I can just have the fun of seeing how the stories have changed.)

Let me know how your classroom blog goes as well. Fourth graders are really computer literate. They may be a nice thing to try.
Did you have to send special permission forms home?

just checking in to see how everyone is doing and to get that extra motivation to finish my story. It's on my calendar in bold print to send Linda at the end of the month. I also wanted to let you guys know...I'm Pregnant! I found out about two weeks after I got home. I'm now 10 weeks a long and this explains why I was always hungry during the seminar. ha ha I thought the food was just so good I couldn't get full but really I was eating for TWO! happy writing and reading

An interesting note about blogs.

First, I am not "allowed" to create one for my class at school. It is prohibited by our county policy for us to upload or download anything. So, blogs are out, unless we can form a united effort and demostrate for the BLOG!!! The old hippie in me is forever looking for a cause. :)

Second, I love your blog Connie, it is truly inspiring.

Third, and this is really interesting to the techie side of me, I can not create my own space on blogger at home because I use Internet Explorer for Mac, but if I download Moziilla I can. This however, would take an hour to down load over my dial up. BUT, I can add to this post. I tried it, so that when I am finished this week with my spirit house art creation I can post a picture of it and the writing.

I also intend to download Mozilla and create my own blog some night when it is not 10:30 at night.

Until then, my love to you all.

Janae, come back! Don't take away that comment! I thought it was cute, especially the Timothy part!

I don't know why I get the deleted comments, but I do...
